This HCG introduction is a selection of English lavender that has some of the darkest colored flowers you’ll ever see making it a stand-out in your garden! Faster growing than other dark colored Lavender selections like ‘Hidcote’.
Description
18-24″ tall x 24-30″ wide. Color your garden with the dark blue calyxes and violet-blue corollas of Lavandula angustifolia ‘Munstead Violet’ (English Lavender). The foliage matures to a nice silver-gray and the fragrance is sweet but not strong. A bee favorite, our chief horticulturist, David Salman, discovered the plant as a chance seedling in a Santa Fe, NM garden. ‘Munstead Violet’ has the darkest colored flowers of any of the English lavender cultivars, making this High Country Gardens exclusive one of our favorite varieties.
