Eriogonum umbellatum v. aureum ‘Kannah Creek’ (Buckwheat) hails from western Colorado. With a showy display of yellow flowers in late spring, the flowers age to shades of orange and rust by late summer, providing months of low care color. A 2007 Plant Select winner. Description

Eriogonum umbellatum v. aureum ‘Kannah Creek’ (Buckwheat) is an outstanding selection of our native Sulphur Buckwheat that provides four seasons of garden interest. In late spring through mid-summer, the plants are covered by clouds of bright yellow flower clusters that age to orange and rusty-red. As fall moves into winter, the handsome gray-green, evergreen foliage gradually changes to burgundy.
